Cleaning Welcome Baskets Initiative
As a family-owned business operating in Jacksonville, Florida, since 1982, giving back to our community has always been at the heart of what we do. Today, we are thrilled to share an update on one of our most recent initiatives, one that has been made possible thanks to the generosity and support of our incredible community.
First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to every single person who donated and contributed to our Cleaning Welcome Baskets initiative. Your kindness and willingness to help have set the foundation for a project that promises to make a significant difference in the lives of young adults transitioning from foster care to independent living.
Every month, approximately 3 to 6 young adults make this crucial transition into Extended Foster Care placements. This period of change is not only daunting but also marks the beginning of their journey towards independence. Recognizing the challenges that come with this transition, we sought to find a way to make their new beginnings as welcoming and supportive as possible.
In partnership with Family Support Services of North Florida, we have embarked on a mission to create Cleaning Welcome Baskets. These baskets are not just a collection of cleaning supplies; they are a symbol of our support and belief in the ability of these young adults to create a positive and healthy living environment for themselves.
Each Cleaning Welcome Basket is delivered personally by the young adult’s Case Worker. But it doesn’t stop there. The Case Worker takes the time to review each cleaning product with the young adult, teaching them how to use them effectively. This educational aspect is crucial, as it not only empowers them with the knowledge to maintain their new homes but also introduces them to smart cleaning practices that will serve them for life.
This initiative is more than just a project for us. It is a testament to our commitment to the Jacksonville community and our desire to support the next generation in their journey towards independence. We believe that by providing these young adults with the tools and knowledge they need to care for their new homes, we are investing in their future and the future of our community.
